Our Story

Rooted in Heritage, Woven into Time…
In 1890, Shubhangi Asabe’s great-grandparents left Narayanpet, Telangana, for Pune, Maharashtra, with their three children. Carrying generations of handloom artistry, they brought more than just tradition—they laid the foundation for a legacy that continues to evolve through Nityaqala today.

A Legacy in Motion…
From 1900 to 1960, the family’s craft had flourished, supplying sarees to renowned clothing stores. With two Paithani, ten Reshmi, and eight cotton saree handlooms in operation, their dedication to handloom artistry had transformed into a thriving business—one that continued to weave tradition into every thread.

A Turning Point in the Legacy…
By 1975, the family’s thriving handloom business faced an unexpected challenge, leading to the closure of their Pune factory. While it marked the end of an era, it was not the end of their craftsmanship. The passion for weaving remained, carried forward through generations, waiting for its next revival.

Reviving a Legacy, Weaving a Dream…
As a child, Shubhangi Asabe played beside the looms, mesmerized by the rhythmic clatter and vibrant weaves. The art of handloom became a part of her, an unbreakable bond she couldn’t ignore. In 2020, with a fashion design degree in hand, she felt an undeniable pull to revive her family’s lost legacy. Nityaqala was born—not just as a brand, but as a tribute to generations of craftsmanship and a promise to carry it forward.
